Vadum, Inc. reports a record year for contract awards in the Department of Defense (DoD) Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) with eight new Phase I starts. The Phase I programs include Army, Navy, and Missile Defense Agency (MDA) applications. Topics included systems solutions for expendable electronic warfare (EW) buoys for Virginia class submarines, a custom sensors for vibration-enhanced landmine detection, distributed coherent communications protocol, improved algorithms for radar clutter rejection, and sensor fusion for improved chem-bio defense situational awareness. Vadum continued the development of EW battle damage assessment for Army applications with the award of a Phase II SBIR.
