Co-Op / Intern Software Development

Vadum Inc. is seeking a Co-Op / Intern  with a technical background in software development.   This position is suitable for a student currently enrolled in a MS or PhD program that wishes  to work part-time during the academic semester and full-time between semesters.

 Responsibilities:

  • Participate in all phases of the software development life cycle (requirements analysis, high level design, detailed design, coding, unit test, integration, system level test).
  • Work in a team environment, to define and develop software to implement features and capabilities for electronic warfare related products.
  • Analyze software requirements to determine feasibility of the system design within time and cost constraints.
  •  Develop software system testing procedures, programming and documentation as required.
  •  Programming in Java, C / CPP, Python, Matlab

 Skills & Experience:

  • Experience with C/CPP required.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills required.

Desired knowledge & skills:

  • Knowledge of Kalman filtering, Random Forest, Support Vector Machine, Adaptive Neural Networks, Belief Propagation, other machine learning algorithms is a plus.

     Education:

    • BS- Computer Science or Electrical Engineering with work toward an MS / PhD.

    This position requires the eligibility to obtain a Department of Defense security clearance.  Non-US citizens may not be eligible to obtain a security clearance.  The Defense Industrial Security Clearance Office (DISCO), an agency of the Department of Defense, handles and adjudicates the security clearance process.  Security clearance factors include, but are not limited to, allegiance to the US, foreign influence, foreign preference, criminal conduct, security violations and drug involvement.  Employment is contingent on other factors, including, but not limited to, background checks and drug screens.
